Left to right, John Pope, Adrian Bobis, ?, ?, Charlie Algoso Vergara, John Quimzon and captain Neno Jareb.

The S.A.S. Highlanders played in Southern California and their home field was Dave and Dawn Bassman’s Conquest in Malibu.

Neno writes, “Great time’s playing at Conquest! Dave and Dawn always made us feel like we were home. Made a lot of great friends at this field!”

Players shot a mix of Sniper 1s, and AGS markers (at the time John Pope was likely working as manager at Matt Brown and David Craig’s Adventure Game Supplies store in Downey(?)). John Pope may have been using his AGS semi automatic sheridan based rifle. If so, he would have likely been the only player in the tournament shooting a semi automatic.

Neno explains this photo was at the end of the Conquest Invitational Tournament in 1988.

Adrian (second from the left) mentions the Sniper 1 he’s holding is in the 500 serial range.

On each team members right shoulder you can see their S.A.S. Highlanders Who Dares Win patch.
